Biography

Raised in the rich culture and traditions of Belize, Dr. Hall followed in the footsteps of her grandmother and became a teacher. For over 17 years she has helped adult learners, of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, gain an understanding human behavior.

Dr. Hall is a Core Faculty member and coordinates the African American Family Studies (AAFS) specialization program at Pacific Oaks College. The AAFS program explores mental health theory and practice from a deeply culture-centered perspective, preparing students to become professionals who use a culturally relevant approach to therapy. The AAFS program is offered in a "cohort" model where all students progress through the program at the same pace. The AAFS program at Pacific Oaks College is the only one of its kind in the nation!

Dr. Hall coordinated the community psychology at Pacific Oaks College. Community psychology is a branch of psychology which focuses on the study of how individuals relate to their communities and the reciprocal effect of communities on individuals.

For two consecutive years, Dr. Hall received the TCSES Global Engagement's "Community Beyond Boarders" Grant. Dr. Hall traveled to Egypt to collaborate with faculty members at the American University in Cairo. The purpose of the collaboration was to create a bridge program for master's level students interested in pursuing a doctorate degree at TCS.

In 2018, Dr. Hall received the TCSES Global Engagement's "Community Beyond Boarders" Grant. The purpose of the grant was to support strategic objective that aligned with Global Engagement's goals of radial cooperation within a global community context. Dr. Hall traveled to Indonesia where she worked with a team of TCSES experts to develop faculty workshops on guidance counseling for the teacher program at the Universitas Sanata Dharma in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

In 2017, Dr. Hall attend the International Conference in Durban, South Africa to present research on cultured centered learning communities.
