Question and Answer
Please describe your teaching philosophy.

I have adopted a student- centered approach in the education and mentorship of students, recognizing that their background and personal experiences have played a significant role in their desire to become social work professionals. It is imperative to have a learning environment that is challenging yet respectful and supportive. My teaching philosophy integrates the principles of Social Justice, Diversity, Respect and Inclusion and is reinforced by empowering students to become advocates for social change. I utilize personal reflection as a foundation for the student to build their awareness and understanding of self and others as they develop social work practice skills.
