Adjunct faculty member Nahid Fattahi publishes Psychology Today article
Professor Fattahi recently wrote “Destigmatizing Mental Health in Muslim American Community” for the publication.
Nahid Fattahi currently works as a psychotherapist in addiction medicine and is an adjunct professor of psychology at Pacific Oaks College. In this article for Psychology Today, Fattahi outlines steps to overcome mental health disparities and mental health stigma in the Muslim American community.
“With all that said, breaking the mental health stigma has to start within the Muslim American community,” Fattahi writes. “Those Muslim Americans who work in the mental health field must work together to remove the misconceptions and educate the community and religious leaders and promote mental health.”
