Pacific Oaks facts
- Pacific Oaks Children’s School was established in 1945. Shortly thereafter, Pacific Oaks College was created to train educators for the school.
- Pacific Oaks principles are rooted in Quaker traditions of social justice, respect, diversity, and inclusion.
- Following President Lyndon Johnson’s 1964 War on Poverty legislation, the U.S. government asked Pacific Oaks to launch one of the nation’s first Head Start training programs.
- Through Pacific Oaks’ Credit for Learning from Experience program, students can earn up to 24 credits towards the completion of a B.A. degree.
- Pacific Oaks offers global study abroad opportunities including Teach With Africa and Education Beyond Borders.
