As a Venezuelan native who immigrated to the United States at the age of 14, I have always been passionate about understanding and helping others. This passion led me to pursue a career in psychology, starting with my undergraduate studies at SFSU and eventually earning my Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marital & Family Therapy & Doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
With over 13 years of clinical experience, I have worked with a diverse range of clients, from children to adults, in various settings. My expertise extends to various trauma-related issues, including those arising from diverse backgrounds, genders, and ages (including victims of crime, military and firefighter personnel) addressing challenges such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, immigration, worker's compensation, pain management, and transition to retirement.
In addition to my clinical work, I have also spent the last 5 years teaching graduate-level courses in numerous trauma courses, mastering interviewing and counseling skills, family theories, law and ethics, and human sexuality (to name a few). This experience has allowed me to stay current with the latest research and techniques in the field of psychology. I have also briefly supported Master's thesis students as chair and reader.
My passion for helping others extends beyond the therapy room. As a life and relationship coach, I am dedicated to helping individuals and couples reach their full potential and achieve their personal and professional goals. My approach is tailored to each individual's unique needs with the extensive experience I have developed, and continue to build on, working with diverse populations.
