Dr. Briana Lawrence received her DrPH from the University of Texas School of Public Health (UTSPH), Health Science Center, with a focus on Management Policy and Community Health. She minored in Biostatistics and Health Promotion Behavioral Science with a concentration on health services research and health disparities. She received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Science in Biology from the California State University at Los Angeles. She has more than 20 years of experience in working in a variety of research spaces from conducting microbiology and biopsychology lab research to social science research. Her research experience also extends to the government sector, having completed a post-graduate research fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Lawrence also worked as a Senior Research Coordinator at the Michael E. DeBakey Medical Center, Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness & Safety, in Houston TX . She has also served in a variety of roles within non-profit organizations including serving 2 years as Program Director for CANDO Houston - an organization that fights childhood obesity. In her current role, Dr. Lawrence is an Evidence Based Medicine Consultant, specializing in Psychiatry and Behavioral health. Dr. Lawrence is passionate about helping students reach higher heights. Her personal mission is to share her skills and experiences with programs that serve, teach, and empower students to be advocates for their own learning.
