Question and Answer
Please describe your teaching philosophy.

I believe in the importance of providing life-long learning skills to students within the classroom. To provide students with a thought-provoking environment where they will be challenged and able to grow as students in and outside of the classroom setting. It is my aspiration to help students not only understand the information given in the course, but to help them to succeed in turning that information into knowledge and understanding that they will be able to use in real world situations. By providing an environment that invites students to share and express their ideas, allows for the integration of different teaching methods to meet a variety of methods of learning that students may have, and having a goal oriented classroom setting, I believe that each student can and will be successful. As an educator, I feel that there are four fundamentals that are essential for the achievement of a student being able to reach their highest potential. These fundamentals are: (1) the educator facilitating and guiding the students, (2) thought-provoking and real life situations implemented into the assignments and/or readings, (3) the sharing of ideas between students and the educator, (4) the opportunity to allow students to resubmit their work if it is apparent that the concepts and information wasn’t fully grasped.
