Shakoya Green Long, is an established professional in the behavioral health and social services field. A native of Southern California, she earned a bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University and a Master of Human Behavior from National University. She also obtained a second master's degree in Social Work from California State University Dominguez Hills. Mrs. Green Long's acquaintance with social services and its impact on individuals is relatively due to her own lived experiences. Ms. Green was born into a home with drug-addicted parents and, as a result, was raised by her maternal grandmother. As an experienced Social Worker, she has combined her traumatic lived experiences with her management acuity expertise to facilitate awareness of program goals, objectives, and desired outcomes for her staff. Her fervor for human development and community awareness have sustained her professional proficiency and ensured longevity and success within her line of work. Mrs. Green Long is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Thomas House Family Shelter located in Garden Grove, Ca. Thomas House empowers unhoused families with children to become independent and self-sufficient.
